2008 Concert Schedule
Last concert of 2008 - December
6th downtown for the San Angelo Christmas
Celebration Kick-Off.
We had a ball this summer!!
The Community Band finished up the
Summer Concert Series with our last concert and 3rd
Annual 'Meet the Band' social. We actually had
the honor and privilege of playing a completely
original piece composed by ASU's own Dr. Stephen
Emmons. Our crowd was also by far the largest
we've ever had at our final summer concert - Thank
You for coming!
The band would also like to thank
the following for making our concert and 'Meet the
Band' social possible:
All of the concerts were held at the Paseo de Santa Angela Pavilion -
located immediately next to the Las Panchito's
Restaurant on Avenue D, unless otherwise noted. The 2008
Concert Schedule is as follows:

May 26 - "A Memorial Salute"

June 14 - "Fiesta by the Concho"

June 17 - "Movies and Marches"

July 3 - "Salute to America" 4th of July Pops Concert

August 5 - "Old & New" Concert -

As always, admission is free!!
Rehearsals are held in the ASU Band Hall every Tuesday at 7:00 PM
during the concert season unless otherwise noted.

SACB Committee Meetings
Next Meeting - TBA - ASU Band Hall
The Committee will be having
several short meetings following normal rehearsals to discuss
final details concerning the upcoming events and the Meet the Band
Social following
the August 5th concert.
It was also suggested to
register our Community Band's website on the National Registry
of Community Bands, which is in progress at this time.
Also, a new look for the site was discussed, which is also in
progress at this time. If you have any suggestions or
want to share pictures or stories of the Community Band with
the website, please contact the webmaster, by clicking on this

Ice House Brass Band
The IHB is currently
enjoying a vacation in the Bahamas... no, not
really. The Brass Band played a bunch of events at
Fort Concho, Fort Chadbourne, and First United
Methodist Church during the 2007
Holiday Season. We're looking forward to
having a great time playing at
Fort McKavitt during their annual Fort McKavitt Days
celebration later in March 2008.
