Armadillo Republic Jazz Band

After a self imposed absence, the Armadillo Republic Jazz Band is back in action.  Recently, the band played for students at Fannin Elementary School, giving the students exposure to a music style that they probably had never heard.  It wasn’t long before there was dancing in the aisles  On the other end of the spectrum, the band recently played at Royal Estates Assisted Living Center where there was lots of toe tapping and dancing to music familiar to the residents.  Enjoyment by both of these groups prove that regardless of age, people like happy music.  The Armadillos indeed play happy music. “Even our Blues are happy.”

In July, the band takes their happy music on the road to Cloudcroft, New Mexico. There, they will play a benefit concert for the Cloudcroft Senior Citizens Center.  In addition to serving up good music, our hosts will also provide an ice cream social.  The band is looking forward spending time in the cool mountains of New Mexico and playing great music for the people there.
